A Message from Dr. Anthony J. Costa, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Founder and Medical Director at Ortho South:

"I founded Ortho South in 2024 after 12 years of independent practice in the public system because I believe Canadians deserve a better orthopaedic care experience.
​
Confusing referral processes, lack of choice in care providers, lengthy wait times to consultation and surgery, with limited face-to-face time with an orthopaedic surgeon should not be the norm.
​
At Ortho South, patients do not need a referral to schedule an appointment, consultations are booked for an hour, and we spend time with patients to help them choose the treatment that is right for them-whether that is surgical or non-surgical treatment. If surgery is indicated, this is carried out at accredited private surgical facilities in Vancouver or Calgary, and the wait-time to surgery is usually only 4-6 weeks. Post-surgical care is coordinated by our highly experienced, dedicated, and caring administrative team. Patients even have direct cell phone access to their surgeon post-operatively.
