The Ortho South Experience
At Ortho South, we make it easy to get the orthopaedic care you need, without the wait. If you're dealing with knee pain, an injury, or need orthopaedic surgery, we’re here to help. Here’s how it works:
-
Booking – No referral is required to be seen at Ortho South!! Simply call, submit an online booking via our website, or send us an email to book a consultation.
-
Consultation – When you meet with one of our specialists, we’ll assess your condition and discuss your treatment options—whether that’s surgical orthopaedic care or a non-surgical orthopaedic treatment. In-person and virtual consultations are available.
-
Next Steps – After your consultation, we will help you decide on a personalized treatment plan for your unique situation.
-
If surgery is indicated, our office will provide a detailed quote for the procedure, and walk you through the medical clearance and booking process for private surgery. Once medical clearance is obtained, surgical dates can be confirmed.
Collaborative Care
We believe in teamwork. That means your care doesn’t stop with your specialist. We work closely with other healthcare providers—like physiotherapists—to ensure you get the best recovery plan for your needs.
Preparing for Your Orthopaedic Appointment
To get the most out of your orthopaedic appointment, here’s what you can do beforehand:
-
Obtain your medical imaging – We will need copies of X-ray images and any advanced imaging available (such as MRI). In addition to the reports, we will need the actual images to view. It is critical that we have the reports AND images available to view before the consultation appointment. Our office can assist you in getting the imaging and reports to us in a timely manner.
-
Complete a “new patient intake form” – You will be provided a new patient intake form to complete prior to scheduling your appointment. It is important to fill this out completely, and in as much detail as possible. This will help our team have a better idea about what type of treatment might be required, ensure all necessary tests and medical records are available in advance of your consultation, and sometimes allow us to anticipate holding a surgical date.
-
Prepare questions – This is your chance to ask about treatment options, recovery times, and any other concerns you may have. Think about these ahead of time and writing them down will help make sure you don’t forget to ask any important questions you may have.
-
Wear comfortable clothing – You will need to move around during the appointment for us to complete your detailed physical examination, to properly assess your condition.
